    Ngatea Development Plan. Ngatea is situated on State Highway2, central driving distance to Auckland, Hamilton and Tuaranga, it is a stop point and main gateway to Tauranga. All duration to those major cities are approximately 1 hour. Ngatea also has close relationship with Piako river, because Piako act as main access in early 1900s. Vision: Revitalise the Hub of Hauraki Plains, through enhance and regenerate local heritages, past landscape, forgotten identities. Proposed to promote Ngatea as a short day stop (1-2 days) with activities and spread visitors to the wider Hauraki Plains District.
