      Monthly Summary

The remarkable thing about the month has been the rain during the last week with high barometer on A.M. of 30th and the very low bar in the evening. By 9am on 1st day the barometer had fallen over an inch in 24 hours. Month also remarkable for number of dull and overcast days and the consequent very little sunshine.

Until the last week rain was lacking and consequently tillage and sowing operations have been somewhat delayed owing to the hard ground. Growth has been very good for this part of the country for this time of the year due mostly to the absence of hot drying winds during whole autumn to dry the moisture out of the soil.  Most crops are now harvest with the exception of few stacks left for threshing. Grass growth good.  Season remarkable for late flowering of roses, the College rose bushes are now in bloom again, producing what is really an extra crop.
