All Black and Canterbury flanker Scott Robertson has added a ‘blue’ to his ‘black’ honours at Lincoln University's annual sports and cultural awards, where he was also named Lincoln University Sportsperson of the Year.

The sports ‘blue’ and the supreme Sportsperson of the Year award, presented by Chancellor Margaret Austin, acknowledge Robertson's outstanding rise in local and national representative rugby.

Studying for a Bachelor of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management degree at Lincoln University, Robertson has represented Canterbury (NPC and Super 12) since 1996 and been an All Black for the past three years.

Originally from the Bay of Plenty and a past pupil of Mount Maunganui College, Scott is specialising in sports management for his Lincoln degree.

Robertson was one of 22 sportsmen and women from 13 sports who were honoured at this year's Lincoln University ceremony, known as the Lindauer Awards. Three ‘gold’ awards were also made for contributions to the life and culture of the University.

Featured sports were canoe polo, cricket, hockey, mountain biking, netball, netball umpiring, powerlifting, rowing, rugby, soccer, touch rugby, triathlon, and volleyball, and in addition to Scott Robertson top national names among the recipients included Kate Pulford of the New Zealand Women's Cricket Team, the world's No. 2 ranked touch rugby referee Bernard McDrury and Black Fern squad member Stephanie Mortimer. Most of the recipients are national or provincial age-group representatives in their codes.
