Lee Richardson's Another Table reflects the university’s commitment to land, food, and ecosystems, and positions the table as a site of connection and bringing people together.

The design of Another Table references the original Lincoln University exam tables from the 1970s, manufactured by the Ōtautahi based company Tube Fab. Lee developed the work by drawing on these early designs, recognising their durability, simplicity, and practicality. The original steel and plywood tables marked by dents, scratches, and the etched traces left by students procrastinating during exams.

In this way, the design acknowledges the everyday life of the campus and the many generations of students who have passed through. The foundations of Another Table incorporate crushed brick from the restored Ivey West building (est. 1881), another reference to the histories of the university. Lee was also inspired by the idea of the outdoor classroom, envisioning the table to be a place where teaching could take place, drawing on Lincoln’s connection to the land.
