Post-primary school pupils visit the College to study wheat, 1949. The Christchurch Teachers' Training College continues to make use of the College farm and livestock for instructional purposes. Sixty-six pupils of the agricultural classes of post-primary schools in Christchurch, Lincoln and Southbridge have visited the College one day each week in the spring and autumn terms for farm observation and instruction and some hundreds of other school pupils have made shorter visits. A sow and thirteen pigs, calves and ewes and lambs were taken to city schools and used by the teachers for instruction in nature study.
