The culminating point of the College year, namely Farmers' Day, was reached on Tuesday, December 16th, 1913 when there was a very large attendance of farmers, including visitors from as far distant as Southland, and it was noticeable that there was a much larger proportion than usual, of young farmers among those present.

Weekly Press caption: "The annual Farmers' Day at Canterbury Agricultural College Lincoln was held on December 16th. Due to unfavourable weather the inspection of the farm could not be undertaken. A luncheon was held for the visitors in a large marquee. Mr R. E. Alexander, Director of the College, seated between two ladies in the centre of the picture, Mrs Alexander on his left."
