The exhibition was curated by Library staff and held in Waimarie July/August 2024.Artwork CopyrightEmma StewartCopyrightAll Rights ReservedCommentary“At the end of my period of study at Lincoln University (circa Feb 1997) I created a series of four small pen and ink etchings, depicting the view from each of the four corners of the George Forbes building. I presented the images to my supervisor, Associate Professor Pat Devlin, as a thank you upon my departure. The George Forbes building was my academic base during my study (Masters of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management) and it afforded magnificent views across the campus. The image submitted as an ode to Burns, was the first in the series, and depicts the view from Pat Devlin’s office looking out towards the Port Hills, over the Hilgendorf building with the Burns building in the distance. The other etchings in the series depict Ivey Hall, Hudson Hall and the view over the Canterbury Plains.”
