Matters Arising. The exhibition draws
on nine photographs Zusters originally
took 40–50 years ago, which she revisits
and reassesses from the perspective of
her present-day self. In Primetime, this
reflective process is central. Zusters brings
the insight and experience of time to her
earlier practice, offering commentary that
is both candid and considered. The work
features two young boys wearing T-shirts
reflective of popular culture in 1980s
Aotearoa. Rather than simply presenting
a nostalgic moment, the image invites a
more thoughtful reading. By revisiting the
photograph, Zusters highlights how ideas
of identity and representation can shift
over time, encouraging reflection on how
meaning changes across memory, context,
and experience.
