Photograph of the site-clearing and subsequent construction of the Commerce Building at Lincoln University (Lincoln College at the time these photos were taken; 1989-90). Previously this site consisted of a formal garden and some glasshouses, sheds and garages. The buildings were removed and some mature trees were transplanted to other campus locations. Some of the garden was saved and is still in place (2016) to the north of the Commerce Building.
