Portrait of Dr F. W. Hilgendorf. Dr F. W. Hilgendorf association with the College extended over a period of more than forty years. He first joined the staff in 1899 and after three years' service accepted a position with the Southland Boys' High School. Three years later he returned to Lincoln and was then associated with the College continuously until the time of his death. Until his retirement in 1936 he was a member of the lecturing staff and on several occasions filled the position of Acting Director. Since 1936 he was a member of the Board of Governors.
