John Forsyth Lochhead (Jack), of Springs Farm, Lincoln, was the son of Robert William and Margaret (Nee Forsyth) Lochhead. Born on the 23rd of December, 1897, he died in October, 1978, and is buried at "Mont Serrat", Omihi, North Canterbury. John Lochhead, who was attending Canterbury Agricultural College (now Lincoln University) at the time, falsified his age to be in the first intake. His name is on the Lincoln University's WW1 Honours Board. John's airforce uniform, cap, wings and work books are now held by the Air Force Museum, at Wigram.
