On the evening of February 20 1984, the four Honorary Life Members of the Lincoln College Old Students' Association gathered at the College as guests of the Executive. It was the first time all four had been together. Until now no tangible sign of the honour they hold had been given them, so the Executive thought it appropriate to present each with a Plaque of the College Crest with a suitable engraving.

It was a happy occasion and one which will be remembered by those present as a time when Charles Upham held the floor, replying on behalf of the recipients to a speech by the Present, recalling many an amusing incident during his time as a student.
