Design Vision: Play on the outstanding landscape features and cultural and historic elements to create strong connections both to the wider South Island and within the Moana Township. Lake Brunner and its environs have a unique natural character comprised of differing physical features, flora and fauna. These components combine to create varying landscapes and features.

Linkages & Opportunities: Cultural and historic connections, Patterns formed by heavy rainfall, Transport accessibility, Lake front development, Building a physical community base, Economic opportunities through tourism, Outdoor recreation, Natural character.

Heritage: Maori and European heritage as a starting point for developing Moana.
