Design Intent: The project uses Halswell Quarry as an exemplar to explore a modern cemetery design approach. It aims to integrate a eco-friendly and multi-functional cemetery with Halswell Quarry to realise the common development of heritage, ecology, and urban open green space, and establish a connection among the past, present, and future.

1. To choose suitable locations for different parts of the new cemetery, improve the CONNECTIVITY
between different zones, and increase the ACCESSIBILITY of the Halswell Quarry.
2. To create the cemetery with various SUSTAINABLE practices that can make the HERITAGE permanent reserved and help the Halswell Quarry realise ECOLOGICAL RESTORATION.
3. To enable the cemetery integrated with Halswell Quarry to provide MULTI-FUNCTIONAL and usre-friendly sites and SOOTHING EXPERIENCE of different scales to help people heal grief and
relieve stress.
