13 March 2006 Launch for Lincoln University Alumni Wine

Lincoln University Alumni Manager Sarah Currie and Vice-Chancellor Professor Roger Field will be launching the Lincoln Alumni Wine this afternoon (Monday 13 March).

The wine is a fundraiser to support the Lincoln University Alumni bursaries. About 10-12 of these bursaries (scholarships) are awarded by the Alumni Association every year to eligible, in-coming first year students.

The association funds the bursaries out of its own funds but is now launching an Alumni Wine to supplement the funding base for the scholarships.

Winemaker Dayne Sherwood (a Lincoln University alumnus) of Sherwood Estate is supporting the venture and will be present at the launch. (The wines are a Sauvignon Blanc and a Pinot Noir).
