A delegation from a university with close ties to Lincoln University was on campus this week.
The Lincoln University Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce hosted a group from the Faculty of Economics and Management of Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesia, on September 11.
The two universities have a number of connections.
The Indonesian faculty hosted a group of 20 Lincoln University students involved an Asian Agribusiness Summer School programme as part of a Prime Minister's Scholarships for Asia (PMSA) programme in December, 2016. Staff from Bogor organised seminars and field visits to provide background to Indonesian agribusiness and consumer markets.
Part of the purpose of the visit was to plan for another PMSA-funded Asian Agribusiness Summer School that will be run in January, 2018.
Bogor Vice-Rector, Hermanto Siregar, is also an alumnus of Lincoln University, completing a PhD in the Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce.
Opportunities for research and teaching collaborations were also explored during the visit.
