13 November 2017 University catering scoops top award

LHL Catering claiming the Overall Supreme Winner was the icing on the cake for a successful night for Lincoln University at the recent Selwyn Responsible Business Awards.

The Awards promote responsible business practices across a range of categories such as community, employees, energy management, and water and air management.

LHL Catering and Lincoln New World jointly won the Lincoln Trophy - given to businesses located in the Lincoln area of Selwyn district –  and LHL Catering was also awarded a Platinum Certificate.
 
The awards were spread around a diverse range of University bodies-
 
LU Early Childhood Centre won the Selwyn Educator’s Award– a new award introduced this year and open to education providers across the Selwyn district, and a Platinum Certificate. LU Recreation Centre received a Gold Certificate.

Lincworks were awarded a Gold assessment for community and environmentally sustainable business practices.
 
The Awards are determined through an initial completion of an online survey by entrants, followed by an assessor’s visit to discuss the survey information and talk about the practices and initiatives each business is implementing.  
 
Seventy two entries were received for this year’s Awards across the Selwyn district, including 16 from education providers for the new Selwyn Education Award.
