Crusaders coach Scott Robertson was handing out the trophies at last week’s Lincoln University Blue and Gold Awards.

The awards, held on campus, are a combination of Sporting Blue, for students who have achieved provincial and national representation and Gold, to students and staff, for a significant contribution to university life. The latter are given by the Lincoln University’s Student Association (LUSA).

Sportsperson of the year was awarded to New Zealand women’s rowing eight coxswain Sam Bosworth, who recently won a bronze at the Rowing World Cup, while team of the year went to the Rams rugby division one side who claimed their third successive Metro title win this year.

The award for outstanding contribution went to LUSA president Danyon Thomas.
