Description

“I had a fantastic night on Saturday night viewing and photographing the aurora in Lincoln. I wanted to capture a few photos of the Burns building with the aurora, so I went out a couple of times to photograph this. I love the juxtaposition of the natural and the built environment - particularly the stunning natural flares of the aurora against the foreground of the partially demolished Burns building.”

This photo was submitted to Living Heritage Tikaka Tuku Iho for the exhibition "Ode to an Icon: The Bold and Brutal of the Burns Building" to celebrate the building's history as it was demolished in 2024. The exhibition was curated by Library staff and held in Waimarie July/August 2024.
