“An image I took in winter 1998 from the roof of Burns. When we were 1^st Year BLA students, we were able to access the rooftop from the staircase outside our studio on the 5^th floor, and it was an amazing place to relax and look out over the campus. It also provided a great opportunity for some students to see what happens to different types of fruit when they were dropped off the edge into the Hilgendorf courtyard below.”

This photo was submitted to Living Heritage Tikaka Tuku Iho for the exhibition "Ode to an Icon: The Bold and Brutal of the Burns Building" to celebrate the building's history as it was demolished in 2024. The exhibition was curated by Library staff and held in Waimarie July/August 2024.
