Vision: Once an island of the Waimakariri River, McLeans Island will be restored through nature-based solutions that allow the river to re-carve its historic channels. The sculpted landscape will guide floodwaters, re-imagining flood protection for the region while revitalising the river’s heritage, health, and mauri.
