22 January 2026 Lincoln University set to celebrate 150th anniversary in 2028; introducing our new design identifier

Te Whare Wānaka o Aoraki Lincoln University will proudly celebrate 150 years in 2028, and planning is underway for a series of events to mark the historic occasion.

 In the lead-up to this milestone, the University will be rolling out a series of initiatives to engage our staff, students, alumni, partners and community, including the introduction of a distinctive 150th anniversary tohu (identifier) that reflects our heritage and our vision for the future.

Designed by Morgan Mathews-Hale from Kaitiaki Studio, with input from Lincoln University's marketing team, the tohu and accompanying design elements integrate Māori visual elements that reflect our unique heritage and our deep connection to the land – our whenua – which has shaped our past and will guide our future.

New logo

From early 2026, we will be introducing a commemorative 150th anniversary logo that will be feature on many of our activities and communication channels in the lead-up and during the celebration year.

The new logo will be applied across our branding and on 150th anniversary initiatives, events and merchandise to ensure it becomes a visible symbol of this significant occasion.
