21 April 2026 Run 4 One: Lincoln University Future Leaders fundraising event for St John

Lincoln University Future Leaders scholars invite the community to take part in Run 4 One, a family-friendly fundraising event supporting Hato Hone St John Selwyn Ambulance Services.

When: Sunday 3 May, 9am to 4pm

Where: Lincoln University campus

Run 4 One is built around a simple idea: ONE lap, ONE donation, everyONE counts for St John. Your ticket is your donation. Each approximately 600-metre lap is simply your way of taking part, contributing to the improvement of emergency response resources, particularly in rural and isolated areas of New Zealand where timely ambulance support can make a critical difference.

There will also be prizes on the day, including most laps completed, a corporate challenge, best dressed in St John colours (green and yellow), a kids’ prize draw, and a team spot prize. All virtual ticket holders who cannot attend on the day will also be in the draw for a prize. 

The event is open to all ages and abilities, welcoming students, staff, corporate teams and the wider community for a day of connection, fun and impact. 

Alongside the community run/walk, the day will feature Kapa Haka, a BBQ, children’s entertainment and first-aid demonstrations led by St John representatives. 

The event was co-created by Lincoln University student Lucy Murphy and fellow Future Leader scholar Callum Stratford. The motivation behind Run 4 One comes from a personal experience in Lucy’s life. Her sister was seriously injured in a farming accident just outside Ashburton, and the family experienced delays in emergency response due to limited resources and location. That experience stayed with Lucy and inspired her, alongside fellow students, to develop an event focused not only on fundraising but also on raising awareness of the important service Hato Hone St John provides to rural communities and its reliance in part on public donations.

Tickets are available for individuals, families and teams, with a virtual ticket donation option available for those unable to attend.
