Charlie started as a lecturer in Horticulture at Canterbury Agricultural College in 1956. In 1969 he set up the first full-time Landscape Architecture course in New Zealand, at Lincoln. The courses have grown considerably and are now part of the School of Landscape Architecture. Charlie was awarded an honourary Doctorate by the University in 2002. The slides were donated to the Lincoln University Museum in 2012, by his son Neil Challenger, who was also a member of staff at the School.Filename24-S C Challenger Slides-1960
