31 March 1997 Overseas scientists to address Lincoln animal parasites workshop

The latest findings on animal parasite management, resistance and control will be discussed by a leading international authority on the use and efficacy of drenches, Professor Quintin McKellar of Scotland, at a Lincoln University Animal Industries Workshop over 24-26 June.

Professor McKellar, recently appointed head of Edinburgh's Moredun Research Institute, is one of three top overseas scientists who will give papers at the workshop, hosted by Lincoln's Animal and Veterinary Sciences Group.

Entitled "The sustainable control of internal parasites of ruminant animals into the 21st century", the workshop will bring together up-to-the-moment information so that veterinarians, rural advisers and farmers can implement the findings in sensible and sustainable programmes.

Internal parasites remain a major production constraint faced by the livestock industry.
