2018 Major Design Tuatapere is a small rural town, it is located 8km from the southern coast of the South Island, New Zealand. The Waiau river flows through the town in Te Waewae Bay where it flows into Foveaux Strait. The main industries are forestry and farming, the population is around 560. Tuatapere is located on the Southern Scenic Route that runs from Invercargill to Te Anau.

By 2035 Tuatapere will be a vibrant destination that forges pioneering character with modern flare to adapt and shift New Zealand’s productive land use practices.
