Issues: Using the current projections for sea level rise, the coastal edge of Nelson will be subject to storm surges and coastal inundation. The existing, and future projections of, extreme rain events will also add further infrastructure stress and will require a new approach to planning the future of Nelson.

Vision: Nelson will become a city adapt to stormwater with an active downtown
and innovative urban experience.
