VISION

The Rangiora quarantine airport design project will provide an opportunity to set up stricter and manageable border controls, keeping society safe and at ease. This will provide both short term and long term accommodation, which can also be utilised as community relief during a natural disaster, or emergency housing. The quarantine facility will maintain a welcoming and positive experience for guests to remember.

AIM

This project aims to accommodate people traveling into and out of New Zealand, through quarantine during a global pandemic or virus response, as soon as possible.

OBJECTIVES

1. MULTIFUNCTIONAL

To create a multifunctional space which can service up to 1000 isolation/quarantine guests.

2. VERSATILE

To provide a versatile site which can be converted to operate for different communities.

3. WELCOMING

To sustain and preserve landscape layers throughout the site which will create character and a welcoming comfortable stay.
