Lincoln University, along with other education providers, is taking the SARS issue seriously. The University's Health and Safety Co-ordinator Greg Mitchell has kept staff and students informed of Ministry of Health advice and circulated health alert posters in English and Chinese.

Tradenz advice, based on the Ministry of Health travel advisory, has also been circulated to the University. Tradenz's involvement in the matter is related to its co-ordination of off-shore marketing activities.

Lincoln's Vice-Chancellor, Dr Frank Wood, advised staff some weeks ago, at the start of the crisis, that there was no insistence by the University that any staff need travel overseas on university business while the twin issues of SARS and war in Iraq were causing alarm.
