19 April 1996 Generations together for graduation

Three generations of close involvement with Lincoln University were celebrated by the Steans family of Little River at this year's capping.

Together at the same ceremony Duncan Steans graduated B.Com.(Agriculture) while his brother James was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Commerce.

Watching with pride were parents Graeme and Caroline Steans, both themselves Lincoln diploma holders and also staff members of the University.

Graeme is Senior Tutor in Wine Science and Caroline is Tutor with the Practical Work Unit.

In addition, the family group at the capping included Duncan and James' maternal grandfather, Stan Duncan, who grew up at the then Lincoln College where his father, the late Tom Duncan, was Farm Manager in the 1920s.
