24 May 1996 Appointed to Fellowship Selection Panel

Royal Society of New Zealand Fellow Professor Kuan Goh of Lincoln University, who holds a personal chair in soil science, has been appointed to the society's Fellowship Selection Panel for Earth Sciences

To aid it in its choice of Fellows, the Council of the Royal Society of New Zealand has established 10 Fellowship Selection Panels for 1996 – Animal and Plant Sciences; Behavioural and Human Sciences; Biochemical and Molecular Biological Sciences; Chemical Sciences; Earth Sciences; Engineering Sciences; Mathematical and Information Sciences; Medical and Health Sciences; Physical Sciences; and Social Sciences. All the panels, made up of five members each, include representatives of the pure, applied and technological aspects of the area of science.

Professor Goh is the sole Lincoln University appointee to the panels and he will serve for a term of three years. He is the only current staff member of Lincoln holding a Fellowship of the Royal Society of New Zealand. Among the retired ranks, Emeritus Professor Reinhart Langer is also a Fellow.
