12 May 1999 Off-Campus Option Available at Mid-Year Too

Mid-year is a good time to consider starting university work even if you're not able to take up study on the Lincoln campus itself. Thanks to the University's Regional Education programme there is now a ‘home location’ option for getting started on some degree programmes or for doing one-off subjects for a Certificate of Proficiency.

The Regional Education programme works through a combination of home study and attendance at regular ‘study groups’ at convenient nearby locations. There a ‘learning co-ordinator’ will ensure you keep your study on track and provide all the expertise and advice you need for success.

For Semester Two this year, i.e. with Mid-Year Entry, Lincoln University is offering seven subjects through its Regional Education programme at seven centres. More centres will be added if enrolments are sufficient (10 or more).

The subjects are Introduction to Social Psychology; Computing; Principles of Economics; Business Financial Administration; Introduction to the Legal Environment of Business; Biochemistry I; and Global Environmental Issues.

The centres are Christchurch, Ashburton, Timaru, Oamaru, Blenheim, Nelson and Westport. If there are interested candidates but insufficient numbers to form a study group, then the University uses the Meet Me telephone conference network to provide the learning co-ordinator contact and backup. However Computing and Biochemistry are subjects which do not lend themselves to this approach.
