Ivey Hall's garden 1938. Its original plan was almost unchanged: a path way through a pergola led into the formal section and continued through an archway in a macrocarpa hedge to a large lawn with areas for croquet and bowls. The lawn was bordered by flower beds. To the left stood an octagonal summer house with quaintly latticed walls, and in the distance on the right grew a row of walnut trees and a wide-spreading mulberry, which are there at present (Burns 1977).
