Ivey's Cottage - Navarone. While awaiting completion of the "homestead building", Mr Ivey lived in one of the four cottages clustered on the road across from the front gates. Three of the cottages are gone now, but the kowhai trees of their gardens remain to grace the view from the new flats. "Navarone" stands alone and is minus its sign; a new coat of paint has spruced it up and a neat concrete path crosses its garden as it has been selected for preservation(Burns 1977).
