Is it suitable to determine different landuses simply based on certain themes? It would be better to develop a diverse neighborhood structure reflective of the needs of the community, and based on a grounded understanding of the character and culture of each site. The graphic technique used to communicate the precinct zones has the effect of making the Central City seem disconnected and segregated in an arbitrary fashion. Having set nodes of typologies can often limit landscapes through the central city and cause issues with proximities to amenities. This increases the need to rely on transport facilities. Having a diverse range
of amenities within different precincts will allow communities to be more self-sufficient, and as a result develop a sense of identity for neighborhood groups. We therefore propose that neighborhoods/precincts have a mixture of amenities and experiences, including:
- education
- transport
- relevant neighbourhood retail
- open space
- permeability
