Christchurch: A vibrant resilient city bursting with life and people

Christchurch is now presented with the opportunity for the city to be [re]discovered, the rebuild of the city is not to be centered on infrastructure of the Cathedral, nor a fabulous civic building, or a stadium, or a recreation park, the heart of the city will be created through the numbers of people wanting to live and be a part of this resilient and vibrant city. For the city to achieve this, the city will need to be designed for the people with the influx of people through successful design, this will allow the central business district to develop around the people. The people will become the heart of our new city.

The proposed CPD will be based around a much more compact core of the central city that will be surrounded by urban living that accommodates all ages and professions. There will be a number of community hubs scattered throughout the central city to support this CPD. With the use of green and blue connections throughout the city this will allow stronger connections and provide healthier living.
