The purpose of this report is to:
- examine the relative health of the Singapore River in July 2003;
- provide the basis of a strategy to rediscover the natural processes of this river. This will be an exercise in ‘environmental archaeology’ seeking out the evidence that might indicate the earlier natural state of the river; and
- set out the environmental indicators that will assist in defining the success or failure of any environmental restoration programme.
