Vision: Hanmer springs is a town sustained by its context lands with compact urban living environment which provide an important identity and attraction.

Goals:

Consolidate built form in a manner that provide more cohesiveness to the "community heart" and assist way-finding among Hanmer Springs' feature and attractions.
To maximise synergy between the reserve and adjoining sites, particularly the southern block of hospital and the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa Reserve.
Reveal the history, culture and nature of the place.
Create a self-sufficient and resilient town.
Encourage visitors to stay longer in Hanmer Springs as a place seeking to be sustainable, health-giving and restorative.
