Riccarton - Out of the Box. Riccarton is a suburb in Christchurch that is situated west of the central city, a Key Activity Centre that with the intensification of large scale big box developments, Riccarton’s culture and sense of place is becoming increasingly diluted. In order to secure a future identity for Riccarton we are required to think outside the box, to break up the pull or influence of the mall in order to develop out of the box Riccarton is becoming.
