Lincoln University's newly formed Rugby Football Club has its on-campus launch in the Commerce 1 Lecture Theatre tonight (23 Feb.) starting at 6.00pm.

The launch welcomes rugby back to the Lincoln University campus after a 13-year partnership with Christchurch's Merivale Club and headquartering at Nunweek Park in the city.

Team members from last season plus new and prospective players interested in being part of the future of rugby at Lincoln University are welcome to attend.

Representatives of the University's management will be present at the launch along with members of the Alumni Association's executive and also representatives of Canterbury Rugby Football Union.

Acting Club Captain Peter Magson, of Lincoln University's Recreation Centre, will introduce the coaches for the season ahead.

    They are  -
First XV: Mark Herbert, Forwards Coach; Allan Lindsay, Backs Coach.
Colts: Noel Hickland, Forwards; Terry Mitchell (All Blacks 1974-76), Backs.

The new club holds a run at Lincoln University this coming Thursday night (26 Feb.) and trials for the various teams will be held on Sunday 1 March at midday and 2.00pm at the University.
