There is a possibility of COVID-19 transmission within New Zealand. Please read the information below to familiarise yourself with the situation and Lincoln University’s response.
The Ministry of Health (MoH) has advised that an Australian traveller to Wellington on the weekend of 19-21 June has tested positive for COVID-19, and there may be potential transmission in Wellington.
Anyone who was visiting Wellington during that period should check the MoH website for details on the locations of interest that will be regularly updated, and follow the MoH guidelines as to testing and self-isolation.
Those who are required to self-isolate must do so as soon as possible.QR codes and Bluetooth
This is a timely reminder to continue scanning the QR codes on campus buildings using the NZ COVID Tracer app, and to ensure that Bluetooth has been enabled on the app.
Health, safety and wellbeing reminder
As always, the wellbeing of Lincoln staff and students is the university’s main priority. They are advised to follow these MoH guidelines to help prevent future spread:
- If you’re feeling unwell, stay home. Don’t go to work or come onto campus. Do not socialise or use public transport.
- If you have any cold or flu symptoms including muscle aches and fatigue, call your GP or the Healthline and make sure you get tested.
- Wash your hands. Wash your hands. Wash your hands.
- Sneeze and cough into your elbow, and regularly disinfect shared surfaces. If you’re concerned about your wellbeing or have underlying health conditions, work with your GP to understand how best to stay healthy.
- Wear a mask if you wish.
The Lincoln University whānau will be kept informed if the situation evolves. Updates will also be available on the Hub, the SAFELU app, and the LU COVID-19 web page.
