10 July 1984 Three day course "Introduction to investment analysis" to be held at Lincoln College

Introduction to investment analysis is the topic of a three-day course to be held at Lincoln College in late August by the Rural Development and Extension Centre in conjunction with the New Zealand Institute of Valuers Canterbury and Westland Division.

The course will start at 8.45 a.m. on Thursday August 23, and end midday Saturday August 25.

Main emphasis will be on calculation of net present value - discount cash flow - and calculation of internal rates of return, and how to apply these to simple investment and valuation decisions.

Those taking the course will be assumed to have no previous knowledge of investment

analysis, so there will be discussion on the six functions of the dollar.

This will cover discounting, compounding, present value of annuities, future value of annuities, sinking fund and amortisation.
