21 November 1984 Upgrade to fire protection at Lincoln College

Fire protection at Lincoln College is to be upgraded and the campus is to have a better water supply for fire fighting and domestic use.

The Acting Principal, Professor R.H.M. Langer, told the College Council meeting today that water mains would be extended and more fire hydrants installed.

This would provide cover for the southeast campus, he said.

Funds were coming from the University Grants Committee for major works for fire protection and water supplies.

The work, along with replacing the college artesian well for firefighting and water supply, would start before the end of the year, Professor Langer said.
