    About

    E. D. Warburton who was at Canterbury Agricultural College 1906-08, died on 30th April, 1942 at Feilding. He was educated privately in London and at the Pensionet Chopard, Switzerland and took up farming in Te Kuiti and later in the Manawatu. Under his guidance the "Te Marama" Romney flock at Kiwitea became one of the best known in New Zealand. A sound farmer in every way, he possessed the special capacity, instinct, and knowledge essential to the successful stock breeder. The title of "Master Breeder" may be justly and honourably conferred upon him. Mr. Warburton served in the Great War in the Air Force as observer and gunner. With his passing the Manawatu lost one of its most valued residents and one who has left an unmistakeable mark on the history of N.Z. farming.
