Vision: Creating an Eco-Agriculture resort in Ashburton that promotes agri-tourism and helps preserve Ashburton agricultural culture and natural biodiversity and benefit locals economically.

Goals:

To create a sustainable agriculture resort to attract national and international tourists.
Enhance recreation service for local farmers, residents and for future increasing population.
Provide sustainable housing development for potential future growth.
Achieving better water quality; protect significant habitat for a full range of indigenous braided river flora and fauna; protect and enhance natural habitat.
Provide education opportunities about the importance of agriculture and its contribution to economy and quality of life, as well as the importance of biodiversity.
