Vision: Creating an Eco-Agriculture resort in Ashburton that promotes agri-tourism and helps preserve Ashburton agricultural culture and natural biodiversity and benefit locals economically. 

Goals:

• To create a sustainable agriculture resort to attract national and international tourists.
• Enhance recreation service for local farmers, residents and for future increasing population.
• Provide sustainable housing development for potential future growth. 
• Achieving better water quality; protect significant habitat for a full range of indigenous braided river flora and fauna; protect and enhance natural habitat.
• Provide education opportunities about the importance of agriculture and its contribution to economy and quality of life, as well as the importance of biodiversity.
