17 February 2010 Enrolment Confirmation and Orientation 14- 26 February 2010

This is a busy period at New Zealand's specialist land-based university, Lincoln University, as new students arrive, existing students return, enrolment confirmations are completed, Freshies Week and Orientation happen, and the new Academic Year gets under way. 

Sunday 14 February: Lincoln University's Sports Scholars and Future Leaders Scholars arrive on campus for the start of the 2010 Academic Year. Welcome and social get-together. There are 49 new Sports Scholars, with numbers spread evenly across the six sporting codes in which scholarships are offered - cricket, football, golf, hockey, netball, rugby. With these new arrivals included, there are now 110 Sports Scholars studying at Lincoln University across the three and four years of a degree programme. Forty new Future Leaders Scholars are arriving and they join 23 second year Future Leaders Scholars and 16 third years.

Monday 15 February: Enrolment Confirmation, Freshies Week & Orientation periods start.

Tuesday 16 February: Welcome and Orientation for NZAID students, 2.00 - 4.00pm, Hudson Hall. NZAID students hold NZ Development Scholarships. Fourteen new scholarship holders are arriving, and they join over 50 NZAID students currently enrolled at Lincoln University. Timar Este was a new country represented among this year's arrivals.

Wednesday 17 February: Confirmation of Enrolment process starts for domestic students. Based in the Library. Welcome/information seminar for International students, 11.30am - 2.30pm. Te Tumu Pacifika, welcome to Pacific Islands students, 2.00 - 3.30pm, Landscape Building, Room D6.

Thursday 18 February: Te Kura Whakamarama, welcome to Maori students. 2.00 - 3.30pm, Memorial Hall.

Friday 19 February: Official welcome to all new students by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Roger Field, 4.00pm, outdoors in front of the Library (Ivey Hall).

Sunday 21 February: BBQ for all new Lincoln University students, 5.30pm, Sunken Lawn.

Monday 22 February: Lectures start for Semester One, 2010.

Monday 22 February: Lincoln University Students' Association Orientation Week starts. Programme includes -

Monday 22nd: Salmonella Dub and local band Taos; Street Performance, Hefty Jeff.

Tuesday 23rd: Toga Party, with Djenriched; Street Performance, The Motley Two.

Wednesday 24th: The Datsuns. Students' Association Clubs and Market Day.

Thursday 25th: BBQ for Postgraduate Students, 4pm Sunken Lawn; The Notorious Comedy Show with Ben Hurley and Steve Wrigley plus Jamie Bowan.

Friday 26th: Hypnotist Ian Blaine. Street Performance, Rubberband Boy.
