    Cuthbert P. Tebb (Dip Ag 1928-1930; staff 1931-36. 1940-43, 1946-52).

Born in England, Mr Tebb came to New Zealand under the Public Schools Immigration Scheme and worked on a farm in South Canterbury for two years. He began the three year diploma course at Lincoln in 1928.

He was active in the Students' Association and following a distinguished academic course was awarded the College's premier award, the Gold Medal.

Mr Tebb worked on the College farm for four years then joined Albert Flay on the staff of the fledgling Farm Advisory Service assisting farmers struggling through depression circumstances. He had control of the College farms and the practical instruction of Diploma students during 1940-43 and 1946-52. In the interim he worked in the Tasmanian Department of Agriculture.

In 1935 he was Secretary of the Old Students' Association and President in 1949-50. He spearheaded the drive for funds which enabled the war memorial tablets to be erected in Memorial hall. When he move to Hamilton with the Economics Service of the Meat and Wool Boards, he, with Ivor Elliot, established the Hamilton branch of the Old Students' Association of which he was Patron for many years.

An Honorary Life Member of the Alumni Association, Cuthbert Tebb will be remembered by many students who came under his influence as always gentlemanly, courteous, meticulous, diligent and helpful. He had a high regard for Lincoln and maintained an active and lively interest in its affairs.
