    About

    Colin Campbell (1919-21) Leitch was born at Ngahere, Westland, in 1902. His father was the late Mr Walter Leitch, a mining engineer and manager of the Blackball mine. He attended the Blackball School, the Greymouth District High School, and Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln, where he was awarded a diploma in agriculture. Early in his service he was an instructor in agriculture at Timary, where he was associated with Mr W. C. Stafford in the development of agriculture in South Canterbury. He took up a post as assistant fields superintendent at Christchurch, and was promoted th fields superintendent on the death of Mr R. P. Connell in December, 1949.

    Mr Leitch was a member of the board of governors of Canterbury Agricultural College, a post-president of the Old
    Students' Association, and a member of the Christchurch Rotary Club.
