Sumner: Refreshing Village - Liang Li

General Concept: The first time as a visitor to touch the unique sense of Sumner Village make me feel so close to the nature environment. Which make me feel I can drop everything and just enjoy the sense of being in the place. "Relax and refreshing" is the feedback that Sumner give to people. The community was affected by the earthquake, and the rock topography make the situation more serious. However, what exist on the village also provides opportunity to make the community more vibrant. In term to my design vision, it will focus on create sustainable, vibrant and identified community for both visitor and residents. And promote the mutual promotion in between to meet the future destination.

Connection development: The light rail connection could tie up the lacking connection between other suburbs and the Sumner village. Which enhance the public transport network within the Canterbury region
to the Sumner such as Lyttelton Harbour.
