Papanui: New Village, New Life - Min Yan

Vision: To design a new urban village with a medium density for different groups of residents In the future. Relocate the bus stop and bring back the train stop in order to encourage local people using the public transport system so that the vehicle use can be reduced. Moreover, open out one of the underground stream and using native plants through the proposed community site to create an identity of Papanui.

Location: The location of site is one of the western side of the railway line, opposite of the Papanui High School. The existing site is occupied by Bridgestone Tyre Centre on the north and Sanitarium Health Food Company on the south. Both of them have decided to move out, that gives the opportunity to design a new urban village.

Main Area: The whole site can be separated into three areas, Residential area (northwest of Langdons Road), semi-residential area (north east of Langdons Road, close to railway line) and commercial area (south of Langdons Road).
